Maybe your creek has been designated a Dam Construction Training Area (DCTA), and they send their interns out there to get experience. (Which would explain the subpar workmanship skills.) With the economy the way it is, most of the interns have headed for Pennsylvania, where most of the Dam Construction Internships (DCI’s) have been awarded.

Or… maybe the Beavers have planned a great dam for your creek, but they haven’t been granted approval from the Greater West Virginia Beaver Dam Planning Commission (GWVBDPC). You know how red tape can hold up things like this.

Or maybe you just have some Dam Lazy Beavers (DLB).

But then, I’ve never felt there was much incentive to save money; the interest you get is from another planet… a planet where you don’t get any interest.

Why do the banks charge us 22% on a credit card (where we’re “renting” their cold hard cash) but only give us a nickel’s worth back on a savings account (where they’re renting OUR cold hard cash). There aint no equity in that.

To receive any kind of decent interest you have to get a CD or something, which requires a fairly large amount to start with. So you have to save up before you can start saving. Yeah… that’ll happen.

The Peoples Republic Of America so they could run it just like their
heroes run China.

We refinanced our house about seven years ago. I know that because there is 277 months left on our mortgage, and I whipped out a calculator and did the math. When I spoke to Tim on the phone last night, I mentioned it to him, and he said we’d be paying off our mortgage until we died. What a depressing thought, I exclaimed. It’s the American way, he replied.

Then he said, “Sweet dreams,” as we hung up the phone. Yeah, right… sweet dreams!
